European Union’s New Policies For The Social Networks

It is a fact that most of the social networks including Face Book, My Space, Twitter and Dig are putting their maximum effort to provide high quality protection and privacy but still European Union needs more restriction for the users. For this purpose European Union introduced a new protection guide line for the social networks to cope with privacy policy issues. This new operating guide line is to ensure the online privacy law from the European Union.

According to the European Union directives on data protection law of 1995 it is not allowed to common person to read the worker’s private emails, collection of any information without the permission of consumer and personal information of different companies to share with common people.

But most of the people do not agree with this data protection Act, like a Data Privacy Lawyer named Jan Dhont at Loreanz at Burssels argues that these rules are not clear for all the situations. Almost every company uses the data protection but there can be numerous ways to violate the privacy policy of a company who want to protect their data.

Social security strategies by the European Union are especially for the well known social networks to setup their safety very high to make impossible any violation. According to the European data security rules the users should not allowed to disclose information to the third party as well as users must prohibited to spread any information about race, religion and political issues.

To enhance the social media privacy it is advised by the European Union regulators that all the social networks must delete all the accounts which are inactive from many years along with their personal information. One of the very common issue is related to this example is the Face Book scandal in which they claimed the ownership of all the content which you ever uploaded even if you are not using this account now. Later Face Book apologies and implemented their previous rules and regulations.

No doubt European Union’s new privacy policy generated a lot of problems for the social networks like face Book and My Space but it will be a positive sign in future. European Union is continuously checking all the activities of all online social networks and instructing them for better privacy and data protection for the users. In case of any sue European Union has full right to take a serious legal action against this privacy policy. European Union is doing great to provide data protection and to resolve different online privacy issues of different companies as well as the user’s problems.
