In order to sync the calendars, contacts and other data on blackberry device with Mac, Blackberry owners are currently using their device with PocketMac. Pocket Mac is freely available but it has some bugs. The second option is to use the software “The Missing Sync for Blackberry” .It costs almost $40 but it really works very well. Therefore, we can say that presently Mac’s BlackBerry users have only two choices: PocketMac for BlackBerry or The Missing Sync for BlackBerry. Both have their advantages and disadvantages as per price and functionality point of view. But now Blackberry has officially declared new Blackberry Desktop Software is coming for the Blackberry owners to sync their data. Now Blackberry will act as a music or media device. The news about the release of BlackBerry desktop software for Mac has created a big excitement among many users. But some of the users are not be satisfied with this because RIM has announced that only Mac OS X versions 10.5.5 and above will be supported. It shows the users that have not that kind of versions will not be able to run the software. IPhone software for Apple is available to install on both Windows PCs and Macs but this desktop will be installed only on windows. For having communication between BlackBerry and Macs, you must have to install some third part tool. The development of this new software is considered as a strategic move by RIM for competing with Apple’s iPhone. In order to receive the notification about the availability of software for downloading you must have to sign up on RIM’s Mac page.
